1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing and using ChainGuard ("the Extension"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this Extension.
2. License Grant
ChainGuard grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension in accordance with these Terms. This license does not include the right to:
- Resell or rent the Extension or access to it
- Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the Extension
- Remove or conceal any proprietary notices on the Extension
- Transfer your license to another party
3. Description of Service
ChainGuard is a browser extension that provides Web3 security tools including:
- Real-time phishing website detection
- Malicious smart contract address verification
- Scam website blocking and alerts
- Cryptocurrency-focused threat protection
- Customizable security settings
- Whitelist management for trusted sites
4. Security Limitations
While ChainGuard provides robust protection against known threats, you acknowledge that:
- No security solution can guarantee 100% protection against all threats
- New phishing sites and scams emerge constantly and may not be immediately detected
- The Extension is one layer of protection and should be used alongside other security practices
- You remain responsible for exercising caution when interacting with websites and smart contracts
5. User Responsibilities
You agree to use ChainGuard only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Extension complies with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations. You should always verify transactions and wallet interactions independently, regardless of the Extension's protection status.
6. Intellectual Property
The Extension, including its design, features, threat detection algorithms, and all related intellectual property, is owned by ChainGuard. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Extension or its content without explicit written permission.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
ChainGuard is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaim and negate all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property. We do not warrant that the Extension will detect all phishing attempts or protect against all security threats.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall ChainGuard or its developers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of cryptocurrency, data, or profit, or due to security breaches) arising out of the use or inability to use the Extension, even if ChainGuard has been notified of the possibility of such damages. This includes but is not limited to losses from phishing attacks, scams, or malicious smart contracts that the Extension may fail to detect.

10. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service at any time without notice. By continuing to use ChainGuard after any modifications, you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these Terms.
